CONGRATULATIONS TO ALEJANDRO NAVARRO - THE NEW ALL JAPAN CHAMPION !

   On behalf of the Europan Kyokushin Federation, we would like to send our sincere congratulations to Alejandro Navarro, for becoming today the All Japan Kyokushin Karate Champion 2012 (Organised in Ryogoku Kokugikan, Tokyo, 3-4 Nov, by IKO Matsui group).

  Alejandro has always been a very active competitor within the European Kyokushin Federation (former EKKO) and he holds the titles of European Kyokushin Karate Champion 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. He grew up in Europe, participated in many European and international tournaments, including the Championships of Spain, Germany, Poland and others. We are very proud and happy to be part of his successful sports career.

This victory proves that "one can achieve the highest goals, as long as he keeps believing it and keeps working hard".

KWF UKRAINIAN KYOKUSHIN KARATE CHAMPIONSHIPS ODESSA 2012

   On October 20-21, 2012 at the Sport Palace "Krayan" in Odessa was held the KWF Ukrainian Kyokushin Karate Championships 2012. It was organized by the Country Representative KWF Sensei Igor Sosnovskiy, president of UFKKShihan Salem Kahil and vice president of UFKK Sensei Andrey Rekunov. 12 regions of Ukraine participated in this championships; the number of participants was 180 athletes.

INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS OF RUSSIA KWF KALININGRAD 2012

On 20 and 21 October 2012, in the Palace of sport “Yantarniy” in Kaliningrad in Russia, a two-day International Championships of Russia KWF for young people took place, with the participation of more than 200 competitors from 11 regions of Russia, under the supervision of the Russian Federation KWF lead by CR Sergey Suvorov.

Guests of honour were the President KWF shihan Loek Hollander, the President EKF shihan Antonio Pinero, the Secretary KWF shihan Andre Drewniak and the member of the board KWF shihan Bertrand Kron. The official opening of championships was made by the Director of the Department of Sport.

Shihan Antonio Pinero was the main judge, shihan Andre Drewniak was the technical judge, and the secretariat of competition was led by sensei Robert Wajgelt. Central referees were shihan Bertrand Kron, sensei Robert Kopciowski and sensei Radoslaw Mazurek.

Within the framework of the entertainment part of the event shihan Pinero led the Seminar for fighters and the Referee course for judges. The event was finished with Sayonara. Kaliningrad Kyokushin Federation led by sensei Sergey Soldatov was the organiser of the Championships.



MAS OYAMA MEMORIAL CUP TOKYO 2012

   On September 16, the International Kyokushin Karate Tournament "Mas Oyama Memorial Cup 2012" organised by IKO Kyokushinkaikan, took place in Tokyo. More than 350 competitors from Japan, Russia, Poland, Hungary, Haiti, Rumania, Korea, USA, Ukraine, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and China took part in this event. The official opening was done by Shihan Susumu Miyake. Chairmens of the organizing committee were Kuristina Oyama and Yoshikazu Suzuki. Sensei Nicholas Pettas was one of the special guests. Letters of congratulations from Shihan Katsuaki Sato and Shihan Takashi Azuma - one of first Champions of Japan in Karate Kyokushin were placed in the bulletin for competitors.
   In men open category Michal Werner from Poland became the winner, for the second consecutive year. In the final fight Werner met with Yugo Toma from Japan and after the unanimous verdict of judges Pole won.

   After the Memorial Cup, the Sayonara party took place in the famous IKO Honbu buliding in Ikebukuro with participation of all IKO Kyokushinkaikan leaders and invited guests who represented other international Kyokushin organizations. The custodian of master Masutatsu Oyama, his daughter Kuristina Oyama reminded about the ideals which Sosai used to teach and indicated the need for the rebirth of Kyokushin on the spiritual and philosophical level.
  The will of the co-operation with different Kyokushin leaders around the world was showed again during this successful event. Shihans and Sensei expressed their will of help in realization of this ambitious plan.
   Just like in the previous years, on the next day after the tournament, competitors and leaders visited the Mitsumine Mountain, gathered under the monument of Sosai Masutatsu Oyama and paid respect to him. The visit to Mitsumine Mt. ended with training under the waterfall.

GENERAL SECRETARY MEETING WITH KWF REPRESENTATIVE IN JAPAN

   On September 14, Shihan Andre Drewniak (KWF General Secretary) and Shihan Noriyuki Tanaka (KWF Representative in Japan) had an official meeting concerning the upcoming 1st KWF World Cup in Japan. Meeting took place in Tokyo Metropolitan Hotel, Ikebukuro.
  Discussion consisted of the following topics: preparations for the next year's events including the 27th European Kyokushin Karate Championships in Poland, the 1st KWF World Championships in Paris, European Summer Camps in Holland, Spain and Poland, and Japanese Summer Camp in Kiyosumi Mt.
  Both Shihan Drewniak and Shihan Tanaka agreed that co-operation between Europe and Japan based on strong friendship relations and mutual respect should be the base for the further developement of Kyokushin World Federation.
