THE 21ST EUROPEAN WEIGHT CATEGORY CHAMPIONSHIPS VOLOS 2007

On 26 May 2007 in Volos (Greece) The 21 European Weight Category Championships took place.
109 competitors from 21 countries took part in the event, which was organised by Greek Kyokushin Karate Organisation.
Main judge was Shihan Antonio Pinero.

INTERNATIONAL KYOKUSHINKAI SPRING CAMP - FRANCE

Beggining of May, Shihan Thomas and Constancia, Sensei Kron, de Timmerman and the World Champion Lucian Gogonel leaded an International Spring camp in the Vosges Mountain, East of France. More than one hundred of Kyokushinkai students trained in common courses and groups in Kumite, Bunkai, katas and Kihon during 4 days in a very good Kyokushinkai spirit, preparing the European Championship with the Dutch and FKOK French team.

ICHIGEKI BULGARIA 2007
2007-05-12
   On 5th May in Palace of Culture and Sport in Varna, Ichigeki Bulgaria 2007 took place. The event gathered 32 participants from Brazil, Bulgaria, Japan, Serbia and Russia. They fought under Kyokushin, Ichigeki and MMA rules. There was approximately 5000 spectators.
   Official guests were: IKO General Secretary Shihan Katsuhito Gorai, Kyokushin Karate World Champion and K1 Vice World Champion Shihan Francisco Filho and K-1 Champion Ray Sefo. Special guests were: IKO International Committee Member Shihan Loek Hollander, EKKO President Shihan Antonio Pinero and EKKO General Secretary Shihan Andre Drewniak.
   Alll above guests took part in the press conference before the fight.
   This tournament was dominated by Bulgarian participants.
   The event was organized by Bulgarian Kyokushin Karate Organisation lead by Sensei Hristo Traikov.

INTERNATIONAL KARATE FRIENDSHIP IN CHIBA 2007

   On April 7-8 in Chiba, Japan the weekend of "International Karate Friendship" took place.
   The 6th Women's World Karate Championships
, The 3rd International Youth Karate Championships, 2007 International Senior Karate Championships, 2007 International Kata Championships were organised by IKO Kyokushinkaikan.
    Kancho Shokei Matsui opened the event, which gathered almost 1200 competitors and couple thousands of spectators. Second day of the tournament started from the special demonstration of All Japan Champions Yoshiaki Uchida and Kentaro Tanaka, after which current World Champion Hitoshi Kiyama lead the warming-up Kihon session for all the competitors. IKO Special Advisor Shihan Yuzo Goda as well as Sensei Kyosuke Machida and Sensei Noro were also present at the event. International Department Director Shihan Katsuhito Gorai lead the judges seminar, were most of the european country representatives, including EKKO General Secretary Shihan Andre Drewniak took part.
   Two europeans became the world vice-champions: Zurine Eciolaza from Spain and Tamara Yurchenko from Ukraine. Michel Dos Santos from France was 2nd and five other senior fighters were 3rd: Jacek Synoradzki (Poland), Wlodzimierz Weselski (Poland) and Zbigniew Golinski (Poland), Bekim Neziri (Austria) and Miloslav Korzh (Ukraine). In Kata Gergana Kostova from Bulgaria was 3rd and Jan Gruba from Poland was 4th.

POLAND VS UKRAINE INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP KARATE MATCH 2009

   On February 28, 2009 International Friendship Karate Match between national team of Poland and national team of Ukraine, took place in Gorzow Wielkopolski (western Poland).
   Teams consisting of 14 competitors, both men and women competed in EKKO standard kumite weight categories. Almost 2000 spectators came to see the tournament.
   President of Gorzow Wielkopolski City Tadeusz Jedrzejczak was the honorary guest. During the opening ceremony Shihan Andre Drewniak officially handed the 5th dan certificate to Shihan Wlodzimierz Roj, who passed the test in Mitsumine two years ago.
   Eight out of fourteen bouts ended up with draw result, four were won by Poles and two won the Ukrainians. Total result: 16 to 12 for the national team of Poland.
   The event was organised by Polish Kyokushin Karate Organisation. Main judge was Shihan Andre Drewniak.
