On 21st of June in New York's Manhattan Center Sports Hall the 4th Women's World Championships and All American Open Championships were held. 174 fighters representing 24 countries pariticpated in the event.
In the very exciting final of men openweight category Brazilian Ewerton Teixeira met with Sergey Osipov from Russia. There was no result after the 1st round, neither after the 2nd. Difference of fighters' weight was not big enough. Number of broken boards was the same. After the last extension Teixeira won by 4:1 decision. Doing so, the 22 years old Brazilian fighter won the American Championships for the 3rd time in a row.
In Women's World Championships - kyokushin fenomenon Ewa Pawlikowska from Poland won the lightweight category for the 3rd time in the history. The other two categories were won by Russians Natalia Zmeeva (middleweight) and Olga Rudenok (heavyweight).
In the special One Match Fight Glaube Feitosa from Brazil won with Japanese Atsushi Kadoi. The match lasted 3 rounds. There was draw after the 1st one and two others were for Feitosa. Kancho Shokei Matsui demonstrated kata "Sushiho" as well as self-defence application. Kancho lead also the technical clinic in Manhattan's NYC Dojo on the next day with participation of 100 World Championships competitors and others. Second part of the training was lead by Shihan Bobby Lowe (8 dan) - International Comitee Chairman.
Organiser of the championships was IKO Kyokushinkaikan International Department lead by Shihan Katsuhito Gorai.
