ALL AMERICAN OPEN KARATE CHAMPIONSHIPS 2006

On September 23 in New York City, The All American Open Karate Championships took place with participation of 160 fighters. Approximately 2000 spectators gathered in Manhattan Center Sports Hall. Organiser of the championships was IKO Kyokushinkaikan International Department lead by Shihan Katsuhito Gorai. The honourable guest of the championships was Kancho Shokei Matsui.

AUSTRIAN SUMMER CAMP KNITTELFELD 2006
2006-09-07

International Kyokushin Karate Summercamp organised annually by Austrian Kyokushin Karate Association, took place in Knittelfeld, Styria on August 23 -27. Chief instructor was sensei Christoph Fischer 4 dan from Germany, who was assisted by sensei Heribert Koller 3 dan and sensei Marek Kubek 3 dan, both from Austria. More than 60 participants from Austria, Germany and Poland came to train together.

Kihon was taught according to the newest international examination-orders. Divided into groups of advancement, participants practiced kata, kihon and kumite. The camp was traditionally closed with kyu and dan examination, followed by Sayonara Party.

INTERNATIONAL SUMMER CAMP BENASQUE 2006

On July 27 - 30 The International Summer Camp 2006 was held in Benasque, Spain. Chief instructor was shihan Antonio Pinero 7 dan. Assisting instructors were shihan Jose Luis Lezkano, Javier Sanchez oraz sensei Fernando Perez. There were approximately 130 participants from Spain, France, Portugal and Poland.

Classes were divided into groups, depending on the level of advancement. The seminar conducted kihon, ido geiko, kata and kumite including the exercises with mitts and gum ropes. There was also an endurance test during the night training.

At Sayonara Party shihan Pinero announced the results of test from 1 kyu to 3 dan and handed the memorial diplomas to all participants of the camp.


33RD EAST EUROPEAN SUMMER CAMP CRACOW 2006
2006-07-25

On the week of July 19-23, The 33rd East European Summer Camp was held in Cracow, Poland. Approximately 260 participants gathered to train together with shihan Katsuhito Gorai and shihan Francisco Filho - the open category World Champion in 1999 and one of the best K-1 fighters, who were invited by the organiser - shihan Andre Drewniak.

There were participants from 10 european countries: Holland, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia, Ukraine, USA, Lithuania, Belarus and Poland. On the last day of the camp the examination took place. The event finished with Sayonara Party where students performed music and comedic skits to entertain the instructors.

Sensei Christoph Fisher from Germany, sensei Mark Kubek from Austria, sensei Jiri Potys from Czech Republic, sensei Racz Norbert from Slovakia, sensei Mizaras Algirdas from Lithuania and sensei Slawomir Urbanczyk from Germany were the honorary guests.

39TH WEST EUROPEAN SUMMER CAMP PAPENDAL 2006
2006-07-18

On July 10 - 14 in Papendal (Holland) The 39th West European Summer Camp took place with participation of about 140 participants and 20 instructors. The camp training program was prepared by shihan Loek Hollander. Shihan Antonio Pinero from Spain, shihan Andre Drewniak from Poland, sensei Sadok Kouka from Tunisia, sensei Christoph Fischer from Germany and sensei Bertrand Kron from France were the international instructors. There was a meeting of the EKKO Board during the camp.
